The Acolyte Shoot Date Changes Plus Casting Calls | Barside Buzz

According to the Barside Buzz, an official trailer for The Acolyte is being prepared, plus the episodes will not be over an hour in length.

The Acolyte shoot date changes plus some casting calls have been reported by The Illuminerdi. The Acolyte is a project that is intriguing fans because it will be set in a time period we haven’t seen much of in any media. The story is set towards the final days of the High Republic period. However this is still later than the current books set in the High Republic. That’s still potentially 100 years before The Phantom Menace though.

What we know so far about The Acolyte is, not much. Other than a rough time period and the fact the main protagonist will be female. Fans are convinced the story will deal with the Sith in some way given the title card imagery and the name of the show.

According to the outlet, who always have a great hit rate for things like casting calls, the shoot dates for The Acolyte have changed. It will now film from October this year until May, 2023. That’s a delay in shooting of several months for a show that was originally supposed to shoot reasonably soon. There could be a number of reasons for this delay, which we are not party to. However alongside this news the outlet has some casting call’s for actors to appear on the show.

Lucasfilm looking to cast a Caucasian man in his 50s to play Paul and while we haven’t been able to find too many details about this character we have learned that Paul will be a series regular and as of now it seems this is a character that will only be a part of the series for one season.

Lucasfilm is looking to cast a young Black girl to portray 8-10 years old to play Miri. Miri is described as a Lead Guest Star and interestingly it seems Lucasfilm might be looking for identical twins.

Now this is clearly not for the main protagonist. That role is reportedly already cast and the character’s name, whether a code name or not is Aura. Reports are that Amanda Stenberg has already been cast in that lead role. It is also likely that the name’s Paul and Miri are code names. I mean you don’t get many Paul’s in Star Wars. What is interesting is that so far we had no real idea whether The Acolyte was a limited series or on ongoing one. If this report is correct, it seems Paul is only needed for Season 1. That suggests that The Acolyte will have multiple seasons, which I do like the idea of more than limited here.

The Acolyte is still very much mysterious and intriguing, but one imagines that as October rolls around and filming begins, we will start to get more details. I guess maybe that depends how much of the show gets shot on The Volume and how much using locations. The more location shoots the more fans turn up with cameras and take pictures and therefore the more details we get.

What do you think of this news as The Acolyte shoot date changes and the casting calls revealed? Thoughts below as always.
