In a new report from The Illuminerdi, they claim to have some details on The Acolyte working title as well as the lead character and shoot date. As always with Barside Buzz this is just rumors. However I find this outlet is usually very accurate with leaks of this nature, casting calls, working titles etc. I also have to warn there is nothing to get excited about here, no spoilers, or actual story detail. Still, any new information is good information as far as I am concerned.

Here is what The Illuminerdi had to say:

According to our sources the working title for The Acolyte is ‘Paradox‘. Paradox opens a lot of interesting possibilities in what it could be in reference to. Is Paradox referring to the main character, the perspective of the series, or even what the show will be exploring? It has also been reported that The Acolyte will begin filming in February, but according to our sources it looks like production may have been pushed and will instead begin filming in early summer 2022.

Remember, in the related section below, you’ll see LRM already reported that The Acolyte would not be filming in Pinewood in February. The guess was therefore the show would film later as the LA studio also seems fully booked with Ahsoka filming after Mando S3.

Here’s what the outlet said about the lead character:

Although it has already been reported that Lucasfilm is looking to cast a woman of color in her late teens to early twenties to play the lead role we’ve managed to uncover what seems to be the character’s name. From what we’ve learned the lead in The Acolyte will be named Aura. It is possible that this is a code name meant to obscure the actual identity of the character. However, given that this is a period of time in Star Wars canon that is unexplored, there wouldn’t be too many well-known established characters that this could be, so it seems a bit more likely that this could be the characters actual name.

As the outlet says, this could be a codename, or it may not be. If this is a brand new character which seems likely, then the name does not really spoil anything. However, my bet is a codename just because that’s how Lucasfilm is sued to working when recruiting talent.
