Marvel’s Avengers have now received the “mean tweets” treatment. The popular bit from the late night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, that brings on celebrities and athletes to read mean tweets about themselves finally crossed over into the superhero world. Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sebastian Stan, among several others all participated in the event.

Even though the tweets were intended to be genuinely mean, all the actors take it in stride and have a laugh about it, which is what makes the bit so much fun. Some are simple and straight to the point, while some of the other tweets elaborate a little bit more. With Avengers absolutely crushing it at the box office, and now holding records for both the largest domestic and worldwide opening weekend of all time, makes taking these quips a little bit easier.

Mean Tweets is one of my favorite bits from the late night shows, with Jimmy Fallon’s #Hashtags being at the top of the list as well. If this is your first experience with Mean Tweets, and you enjoyed it there are plenty more episodes on Youtube.
