Suicide Squad the Ayer Cut won’t go away!
You have to give the DC fans credit, they won’t let things just die. With the announcement of the Snyder Cut Justice League movie being released on HBO Max later it has brought a second wave of fans wanting the David Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad. Over the past couple of weeks David Ayer has been more vocal about his cut of the movie and what it kind of looked like. Just recently on Twitter an image of a page from the Suicide Squad script has been circulated around that includes the Joker. While it was originally viewed as fake it has now been confirmed from David Ayer himself as a scene that was filmed and edited. His last comment was a swipe at Warner Bros saying that we were not permitted to see it.
The biggest piece from the screenshot of the script is that Joker played a part in confrontation between Enchantress and The Suicide Squad. If you remember in the theatrical version of the movie the last we see of the Joker is in the helicopter as it has been shot down. There is also the scene in the end credits where Joker frees Harley out of her cell but had nothing to do with the main storyline. There have been many stories since the release of the movie that a lot of the scenes involving the Joker where left on the cutting room floor. Ayer has confirmed that his original cut of the film exists and is willing to release it.

If you followed Suicide Squad throughout its production process, you’ll know that the divorce between David Ayer and Warner Bros was not amicable at all. Quite famously, the studio hired a different editing house to cut the film while Ayer worked on his own version.
It does seem to confirm that Jared Leto’s Joker played more of a significant role in David Ayer’s version of Suicide Squad and “The Ayer Cut,”. So, ladies and gents, if you really want to see David Ayer’s vision of Suicide Squad, all we need is a movement of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut proportions.
