The casting train keeps on chugging for the upcoming DC film The Batman. It’s been a long and winding road to get from Ben Affleck to Robert Pattinson, but writer-director Matt Reeves is making real headway, with plenty of names, including Jeffrey Wright and Zoe Kravitz set to populate the world of the Caped Crusader. And now, we have one more key role that could be filled.
TheWrap is reporting that Andy Serkis is in talk to play Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, Alfred Pennyworth. This actually seems like a pretty solid move, as I can imagine Serkis as both a warm, yet threatening guardian of Bruce, as well as a faithful companion.

Of course, Serkis is known for his work on The Lord of the Rings, but he’s also worked with Matt Reeves extensively on two of the Planet of the Apes prequel movies, where he played mythical ape Caesar, who led his fellow apes to freedom.
What do you think of Serkis playing Alfred Pennyworth? Is he a good fit for the role? Let us know your thoughts down below!
