The Batman Gets Anonymous Coronavirus Tip Line In U.K.

Pattinson On How Different Tonally The Batman Is And Sequel Teases

The Batman gets an anonymous Coronavirus tip line. Read on for more details.

The Batman was filming in my home City of Glasgow until the Coronavirus hit the fan big time across the Globe. Scotland like everywhere else went into lockdown, but things are slowly starting to improve over here, kinda. Scotland is better than England right now, but since we have no actual border, things could change. The U.S. is another matter right now. Luckily The Batman will continue to film in the U.K. and is set to resume production soon.

However, Deadline has now reported that an anonymous tip line is being set up for production staff working on The Batman. The idea behind this is simple. The line will be a place for staff to report unsafe practices without fear of reprisals from those higher up. Steps like these should ensure that everyone stays safe whilst finishing off The Batman.

As per Deadline‘s report. Kevin Trehy, Warner Bros executive vice president of physical production, spoke about the measure last week during a behind-closed-doors industry panel organized for members of UK union Bectu. Trehy, who sits on a WarnerMedia production restart taskforce, added that the company is taking time to listen to crew and has hired safety consultants to assuage concerns.

Trehy went on to say that Warner Bros are “our own strictest police force” and that they would be going over and above U.K. Guidelines. Trehy also acknowledged that a return to work has been met cautiously. He also said “No-one knows what a schedule looks like in the new normal.” I guess most of us can attest to this at our own jobs. There was the old way of working and then there is the post-COVID way of working.

It’s going to be interesting to see if The Batman can get finished. We’ve already heard there will be far less location shooting now, a shame since this was a primary reason for choosing Glasgow. However I know the Government in Scotland is worried that a second spike could kick in around October time. I’m guessing Matt Reeves and WB will be hoping they have wrapped by then. The Batman is still scheduled for release in October, 2021. However, with so many delays, who knows if that will slip as well?

Do you think it’s a good idea The Batman gets an anonymous Coronavirus tip line? If not, I think you’re crazy, but would still like to hear from you below.
