Batman franchise has had some controversial casting from the beginning. Starting with Michael Keaton, Heath Ledger (perhaps the most famous) and most recently, Robert Pattinson. It seems as if we almost had another casting of this nature, and if it had gone down, it might have been the most controversial of all.

So, Seth Rogen as the Penguin, what you folks think about that? Well, while no serious talks happened, it appears as if some preliminary discussions took place, according to Deadline anyway. THR reporter Borys Kit also commented on the matter, you can check it out below.

“On the Seth Rogen Batman rumor: there were some initial talks for him to play Penguin while WB courted Hill for Riddler (once they settled on him actually playing Riddler and not Penguin), but that too didn’t work out.”

Well, I have to say that Rogen wouldn’t have been my first choice, however, if he had been cast I would have reserved judgment until I saw some footage of him actually playing the character. You never know what someone might be capable of, and it’s not like Rogen hasn’t branched out into dramatic roles before.
