Will The Batman feature multiple Batsuits?

Rumors are a dime a dozen on the internet. They appear and disappear on a near-daily basis. Some go on to be true, but most of them fade into obscurity when proven unequivocally false. But given the sheer volume of them, it’s often hard to keep track of which ones prove to be false and which prove to be true. Luckily, there are plenty of eagle-eyed fans out there, and when the latest trailer for The Batman dropped, some noticed an old rumor that once surfaced.

This was first noticed by the outlet Batman-News. About six months ago, there was a rumor from a Redditor who claimed to work on the film that we would get multiple Batsuits.

“What I know from filming in the current cathedral set piece (we’re almost done here, filming is moving to Glasgow in less than a week) is that this suit gets destroyed very early on. I think it is due to a villain, but I couldn’t tell.”

The Redditor went on to compare the suit to Spider-Man’s “Night Monkey” suit in Far From Home.

“It’s grey, with full black gloves extending to his forearms and black boots,” the Redditor said. “The symbol is no longer metal and lacking ears, it’s a more ‘classic’ version of the symbol on the first suit in the film. The cowl is made of a higher quality material than the leather of the first cowl. The ears are medium-to-long length and the mouth opening is much smaller. He no longer has the collar. (I think he might have the white eyes too).”

So, what was it about the Batman trailer that helped raise the credibility of this rumor? The Redditor stated that they were working on a cathedral and that it’s a funeral scene that gets “crashed by the villain.”

The trailer seems to have a funeral scene that it indeed crashed by the Riddler in the film. As such, it checks out. But, as with all rumors, take this all with a grain of salt. The original poster also states the Catwoman suit is very much the comic book outfit, but we have seen no indication of that. That being said, it’s not like films shoot in order, so it’s always a possibility that scenes were scrambled due to production convenience.
