It seems there’s a The Batman video game in development from Warner Bros. It’s somewhat surprising this series is getting a video game when the DCU’s main Batman is still to come. However, perhaps I should not complain as historically Batman games are pretty good fun.
[UPDATE]
UPDATE: This news has now been debunked by co-head of DC Studios James Gunn on Threads.
Gunn said;
“Sadly there is no truth to this whatsoever.”
Original Story Below
The information comes form Puck News paywalled newsletter. The article was about WB/D boss David Zazlav and the various changes afoot. Then;
“especially as the various WBD divisions are beginning to collaborate more closely on properties like the upcoming Penguin HBO show and game, both seeded in the 2022 The Batman movie.”
Which would indicate a game seeded from The Batman is in development at Warner Bros. Studios.

Not gonna lie, this seems like a sure fire way to make some cash, if they make a decent game. Batman’s popularity rarely wanes and the fact most previous Batman related games have been hits will draw in an audience. There’s been a gap in the market since Arkham Knight, and a movie spin-off could be a money spinner.
Of course, this is hardly an announcement. Puck News is not a trade either, though their editor is a trade veteran with a ton of contacts. Therefore, watch this space, but pinch of salt for now. I’ll be hoping it comes out, what about you?
