According to showrunner Eric Kripke, The Boys Season 3 will adapt the controversial Herogasm plot from the comics. For those unaware, the comic version was really out there apparently. All the Supes go to a private island for a celebration. Once there the Supes give in to all their worst excesses. Many fans thought that there was no way The Boys show would go THAT far. Yet, here we are according to Eric Kripke.

Full disclosure I have never read any issues of The Boys, only watched the show. Given how the show has gone, I wondered what could be so bad that fans would assume Herogasm would not be covered? A bit of light reading (to try and avoid spoilers) gives me an idea, but without getting into specifics it’s hard to say. Since I do not read comics any longer I will wait for some surprises when I see Episode 6 of The Boys Season 3.

Considering how bad the Supes have behaved during Season 1 and Season 2 it’s hard to imagine how much worse things can get? It’s kinda exciting to have that anticipation but without the detailed knowledge. Perhaps this Herogasm episode may not be all that importnat to the overall plot of the Season? Maybe I’m wrong, I’m just saying it feels currently like the plot could stop for an episode while the Supes get their retreat day out their system. I think it could be played either way and it’s hard to guess because truthfully we don’t know where Season 3 will go?
Any comic readers here? If so are you surprised that Kripke is committing to making a Herogasm episode for The Boys Season 3? Are the events from the comic really that much worse than what we have already seen from these nasty Superhero’s? Leave your thoughts, (sans spoilers) in the usual place below.
