The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Teaser: Sabrina’s Birthday Gets Downright Eerie

Netflix is looking to change Sabrina the Teenage Witch in the same way they changed Archie in Riverdale for The CW. In other words, don’t expect this to be the same family-friendly series you’ve been reading for years, and definitely don’t expect it to resemble the ’90s sitcom starring Melissa Joan Hart.

In this first teaser, we get the eerie “Happy Birthday” song choice set over some disturbing imagery, including people in masks, dudes running around with animal heads on them, and it all is capped off with Sabrina sitting across the table with a group of people, including said dude wearing an animal head.

Without a doubt, this first teaser sets the tone for what’s to come, and unlike Riverdale, I think the source material here is more ripe for the picking when it comes to dark storylines.

The synopsis for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is below:

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina tells the story of Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka), a half-witch half-mortal teenage girl. She’s been waiting her whole life for her 16th birthday, but something wicked this way comes, forcing her to choose between the path of light and the path of night. A Netflix Original Series from the makers of Riverdale. CAOS arrives October 26th.”
