Hello! Welcome back to The Comic Stash: June edition. And thanks for checking out my picks for this month! I hope everyone has plans for the summer besides looking forward to new comics and comic conventions. However, always be available to pick up your books on Wednesday. The thing I look forward the most are the variant covers that come out each week. With gas prices, and yes there is still a paper shortage going with the world, I hope you are still able to get to your shop and afford your collection. But on a lighter note, it is already June and before you know it, October will be here! The year is flying fast so far. That can be good or bad on the way you look at it. Well, let us get into my picks for The Comic Stash: June. Remember ,release dates can change on the last day so please expect that to happen from time to time.
Week One June 1, 2022
Starting off The Comic Stash: June is DC Comics. They have their annuals coming out this week. First is Batman by Ed Brisson with art by John Timms.
Next is Action Comics Annual by Simon Spurrier and Phillip Johnson with art by Dale Eaglesham and Ian Churchill.
Following the fall of most DC Heroes there will be a one-shot out: Justice League Road to Dark Crisis with story and art by a whole team.
In DC’s Shadow War there will also be a one-shot to tie it all up: Shadow War Omega by Joshua Williamson with art by Stephen Segovia, Howard Porter, and Mike Henderson.
Image Comics has a new series: The Closet #1 by James Tynion IV and art by Gavin Fullerton. I enjoy the preview for this book and another great horror story by James Tynion.
Image Comics’, A Righteous Thirst for Vengeance #8 by Rick Remender with art by Andre Lima Araujo comes out this week. This is the best issue so far as we see what happens when you impersonate someone.
The final issue of Step by Bloody Step #4 by Simon Spurrier and art by Mat Lopes comes out this week. This is a great series because there are no words. However, the art is amazing and detailed which tells the story. A small week to pick from so that’s good news for your wallet this week.
Week Two June 8, 2022
Marvel Comics starts off the second week of The Comic Stash: June. Their first work is Thor as a new Hulk in Thor #26 by Donny Cates with art by Martin Coccolo.
Marvel also has a new mini-series: Jane Foster and the Mighty Thor #1 by Torunn Gronbekk with art by Michael Dowling.
DC Comics has a new series coming out called Poison Ivy #1 by G. Willow Wilson with art by Marcio Takara. This should be a fun one to pick up because she is a fan favorite. There are a ton of variant covers to choose from.
Image Comics has Twig #2 by Skottie Young with art by Kyle Strahm out this week.
Aftershock Comics has a new series: Astronaut Down #1 by James Patrick with art by Rubine.
Week Three June 15, 2022
DC Comics starts off week three of The Comic Stash: June with Jurassic League #2. The story is by Daniel Warren Johnson with art by Juan Gedeon.
Marvel Comics has a new series called Captain America Sentinel of Liberty #1 by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly with art by Carmen Carnero.
Boom! Studios has Grim #2 by Stephanie Phillips with art by Flaviano Armentaro. This story is fun and has me hooked since the first issue. There are variant covers by my favorite artist, Jenny Frison. It’s definitely worth picking up this series.
Titan Books has a new series: Blade Runner Black Lotus #1 by Nancy Collins with art by Enid Balam.
Aftershock Comics will have issue #2 of Bunny Mask: The Hollow Inside by Paul Tobin with art by Andrea Mutti. This is one of my favorite books because of the story and the amazing art.
Week Four June 22, 2022
This week we will have a huge fan favorite title coming out. Boom! Studio has Something is Killing the Children #24 by James Tynion IV with art by Werther Dell Edera. This will also have some variant covers to get, along with a one per store variant.
Image Comics will also have another fan favorite comic: Nocterra #11 by Scott Snyder with art by Tony Daniel.
Opus Comics has Disturbed: Dark Messiah #2 by Tim Seeley with art by Angel Hernandez.
Week Five June 29, 2022
Rounding out the month for The Comic Stash: June begins with Image Comics’ Saga #60 by Brian Vaughan with art by Fiona Staples. Also, I am incredibly happy this series is back and now at issue #60!
Image Comics will also have another issue of Righteous Thirst for Vengeance #9 by Rick Remender with art by Andre Lima Araujo.
DC Comics’ Batman Catwoman #12, the final issue, is out this week. It is by Tom King with art by Clay Mann.
Also, from DC Comics comes DC vs. Vampires: Killers #1 by Matthew Rosenburg with art by Mike Bowden.
Marvel Comics has Iron Man and Hellcat Annual #1 by Christopher Cantwell and art by Ruairi Coleman.
A new mini-series from Marvel comes out this week: The Variants #1 by Gail Simone with art by Phil Noto.
The other mini-series coming out from Marvel is, Iron Cat #1 by Jed MacKay with art by Pere Perez. This will also have a few variant covers to get. It should be interesting as we have Jessica Jones find out what other versions of herself decided to do with their lives in the multiverse.
Boom! Studios has Buffy ’97 #1 by Max Bemis with art by Marianna Ignazzi, coming this out.
Artists Writers and Artisans Inc. has issue #4 of Hit Me by Christa Faust with art by Priscilla Petraites. This has been a remarkable story with tons of action if you like crime thrillers.

Well, as you can see the last week will have a ton of comics coming out like last month. I am starting to think five Wednesdays in a month gets too pricey for collectors. We need less five weeks in a month. But, I still look forward to getting my titles every month so I’m not upset about it.
Well, that is all for The Comic Stash: June edition. Thank you for taking the time to read this column and I hope you take the time to check out our other columns, stories, and videos on our website. Have a great June and enjoy the weather! Do not forget Father’s Day on June 19. Show some love and maybe give him a great comic to read!
