Star Wars Adventures #1, a new piece of content from a galaxy far, far away does just that.  gives a peek into the mind of Darth Vader during the raid on Echo Base on the ice planet of Hoth. A mind which is likely just as tormented as his body (what’s left of it anyway)

So what was on his mind? First off, his son Luke Skywalker. Vader thought deeply about how he and his son could be facing similar issues. The book also depicts a scene where Vader walks by the Bacta tank that Luke recovered in after the wampa attack. This causes Vader to have a Force vision that shows him realizing they share similar internal issues.

A tragic figure, I think it’s safe to assume Vader has a heavy amount of regret mixed in with his fear, hate, and suffering. Replaying over and over in his head his betrayal of  Mace Windu and his last two meetings with Obi-Wan. And the younglings, wow. That could actually be the worst thing he has to deal with, day in and day out.

This is the type of scene that I expect to make up the majority of Hayden Christensen’s role in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. That’s what I expect. What I hope is that his role is much larger and that he will appear in flashback type scenes such as the Bacta tank vision mentioned above, as well as be part of the present, in reference to the time period of the show.
