Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter is broadening her horizons beyond just streaming on YouTube. The former professional gamer is making her debut in the Apple TV+ comedy action film The Family Plan.

Essentially, she is playing herself as a leader of a competitive video game clan in the film.

The film stars Mark Walhberg (The Fighter, Boogie Nights), Michelle Monaghan (Gone Baby Gone, Pixels), Zoe Margaret Colletti (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Annie), Van Crosby (Splitting Up Together, Criminal Minds), with Ciarán Hinds (Belfast, The Woman in Black), Saïd Taghmaoui (Wonder Woman, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), and Maggie Q (Divergent, The Protégé).

Here is the full synopsis:

Dan Morgan (Mark Wahlberg) loves his quiet suburban life as a devoted husband, father of three and successful car salesman. But that’s only half the story. Decades earlier, he was an elite government assassin tasked with eliminating the world’s deadliest threats. When enemies form his past track him down, Dan packs his unsuspecting wife (Michelle Monaghan), angsty teen daughter, pro-gamer teen son and adorable 10-month-old baby into their minivan and takes off on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas. Determined to protect his family—while treating them to the vacation of a lifetime—Dan must put his long-dormant skills into action, without revealing his true identity.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, or also known as Rae. We spoked about her transitioning into acting, playing herself, video gaming, the Las Vegas e-sports arena, meeting Mark Wahlberg, and if she wants to continue acting after catching the bug.

Rachell Hofstetter, or better known as Valkyrae, is an American live streamer on YouTuber. She is a co-owner of the gaming organization 100 Thieves and one of the top female streamers on YouTube. She started streaming on Twitch in 2015 and broke through in the competitive online world with Fortnite in 2018. She joined 100 Thieves later to be their first female content creator. Later, she was known for streaming Among Us, which lead her to winning the Game Award for “Content Creator of the Year” and Streamy Award for best live streamer. Also, she was named “Gaming Creator of the Year” by Adweek in 2021 and was included in the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2022.

The Family Plan streams on Apple TV+ tomorrow.
