The Flash & Supergirl Teaser Trailer: Duet – Here Comes The Music Meister!

If there is one thing that many people love about The CW DC shows, it is when we get a nice little crossover event, and they may face their post powerful adversary yet when the Music Meister comes to the screen on March 20th. Don’t laugh! On the animated TV show, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, he could literally control the actions of all heroes and villains, using the power of song and dance, to serve his evil agenda. He does appear to at least have a different powerset for his live action version, and you can see a teaser trailer followed by the official synopsis directly below for the Supergirl/The Flash crossover.

“DARREN CRISS (“GLEE”) GUEST STARS AS THE MUSIC MEISTER IN THE FLASH AND SUPERGIRL MUSICAL CROSSOVER – Barry (Grant Gustin) and team are surprised when Mon-El (guest star Chris Wood) and Hank Henshaw (guest star David Harewood) arrive on their Earth carrying a comatose Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) who was whammied by the Music Meister (guest star Darren Criss). Unable to wake her up, they turn to Team Flash to save her.

“However, the Music Meister surprises The Flash and puts him in a similar coma, one that Team Flash can’t cure. Kara and Barry wake up without their powers in an alternate reality where life is like a musical and the only way to escape is by following the script, complete with singing and dancing, to the end.”

First, I am sure they meant J’onn J’onzz not Hank Henshaw, as it would be odd for Mon-El and Cyborg Superman to show up together. I am fairly positive that everyone knows that J’onn is just wearing Henshaw’s human form, as the real Hank Henshaw is now Cyborg Superman, and even IMDB reflects this change. It also appears that Music Meister has some type of multidimensional power where he is able to knock people out while simultaneous transferring their minds to some type of alternate plane of existence, where the only way out is from, again, song and dance.

We do also believe that most of the actual crossover will happen on The Flash, as there are reports that Music Meister will not show up until the end of the Supergirl episode.

In looking at the trailer and pics (which you can click a link below to see), we do see a quick shot of the Music Meister twirling a few ladies, and we also see what appears to be a terrified Kara on stage singing. In addition, both Winn (Jeremy Jordan), Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) & Victor Garber(Dr. Martin Stein) both currently from Legends of Tomorrow, and a few others will have singing or dancing roles as they all have some form of musical background. It is unknown if they actually get transported to this realm, or if it is simply the Music Meister creating some type of hologram.

It’s also believed that half of the episode will occur in this alternate dimension, and the other half will occur in the real world, with each team trying to battle the Music Meister in both places at once.

While I really wanted Neil Patrick Harris to play the Music Meister, as he was the voice for the original cartoon, I am sure his schedule would not allow for it. However the actor playing him is Darren Criss, and he fits the part well. It is also known that there will be at least one original song written by the people that wrote City of Stars that won best original song in La La Land.

What do you guys think? I know musicals aren’t everyone’s favorite, but I always loved animated show with the Music Meister, so I am excited for this. The crossover will air March 20 and 21! Let’s hear from you!
