The Flash And The Matrix 4 Get Release Dates

Over a year after The Flash was supposed already have hit theaters, it looks like we may finally have another. Well, at the very least we have a new release date, courtesy of Warner Bros. According to THR, the studio has slated the long-gestating superhero flick for July 1, 2022 — just over two years from now.

With Andy Muschietti on board to helm the project, an actual release date seems to at least hint at them actually having a plan for the character in this film, and after all the time it’s spent cycling through stories and directors, this is great to hear.

The Matrix 4 also got a new release date of May 21, 2021. This is less of a surprise, as the casting of this one has been underway for a while, with Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Neil Patrick Harris, Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Jonathan Groff have all been attached to the project, with Lana Wachowski on board to direct.

Sadly, there is one piece of bad news, and it’s that the manga adaptation of Akira was once slated for that May 21, 2021 date, and it’s now been removed. This comes after director Taika Waititi put the film on hold to direct Thor: Love and Thunder.

What do you think of these new dates, and do you think The Flash will actually happen? Let us know your thoughts down below!
