The Game of Thrones Season 8 Visual Effects Reel Shows Daenerys Light Up King’s Landing

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, not quite the dagger in the back that The Last Jedi was, but a similar feeling for sure (on a smaller scale of course). While there were aspects of the season I loved, as a whole it felt like being a teacher and grading the final exams of star students who just phoned it in.

My opnion aside, a huge amount of work went into making the season for fans. In the video above you can check out the visual effects stripped down and see how some of the most cinematic scenes of the show came together.

While I will likely never be ok with the way Benioff and Weiss decided to tell us fans the rest of the story of the Iron Throne, however, the season did have some amazing shots and even though it seemed rush, Khaleesi “burning them all,” Drogon hiding under the snow, and of course, the dragon wings may be one of my favorite shots, ever.
