The Harder They Fall Review, Vin Diesel Calls out The Rock & One Piece Casting

Breaking Geek Radio: The Podcast is about analyzing geekdom and the things we like: an in-depth examination of movies, television, and culture. Expect reviews, a look at entertainment controversies, and other fun content! This Podcast is a once a week release coming out every Friday!

Sorry for the delay. Sometimes, life just gets in the way. Danny (@dannykbartlett) is out this week and that leaves the remainder of the Ladtastic 4, Jammer (@jamthewriter), Nick (@geekyNICKDOLL) and Jonesy (@sirjonesiest) react to the latest news out of Hollywood and review The Harder They Fall.

Box Office

First up, the gang revisits Eternals, as box office receipts for this week look relatively weak and the revelation that the CinemaScore was a B, the Lads discuss what this could mean for the future of the franchise and the MCU as a whole going forward.

News

Next up, Vin Diesel hilariously calls out The Rock in a bid to get the superstar to return to the mainline Fast and Furious films for the finale of the series, FAST10. Diesel refers to The Rock as his “little brother” and invokes Paul Walker’s name in what appears to be an attempt to smooth things over with his one time co-star.

Fresh off the printing press, we get a new poster for the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home, dropping this December. In it, we see several villains teased for the wallcrawler’s multiversal romp. Nick Doll reacts to the news.

Later in the show, we’ve gotten our first look at the straw hats from the upcoming Netflix adaptation of One Piece. Jammer has the most informed reaction to the characters, while Jonesy tags along, offering his limited opinion, based on that one time he read 100 chapters.

Review

Finally, Nick Doll and Jonesy discuss the finer points of Netflix’s The Harder They Fall, as Danny has abdicated the floor to people that enjoyed the film. I don’t know why you would, but if you were so inclined, you can jump straight to review at 1:08.00
