For decades, children have been warned about never talking to strangers and entering their vehicles. In the stalker thriller The Man in the White Van, a young girl tries to seek help from a stranger stalking her in a vehicle without anyone believing her story.

Here is the full synopsis:

Inspired by a true story, The Man in the White Van delves into the eerie underbelly of a seemingly idyllic 1974 Florida town, and follows the harrowing experience of young Annie Williams, a spirited girl whose carefree existence is turned upside down as she becomes stalked by an ominous man in a white van.

The tranquility of Annie’s world, from her love of horseback riding to her leisurely strolls home from school in the nearby woods, begins to crumble as the menacing white van inches closer and closer. As her parents’ skepticism increasingly grows, Annie finds herself psychologically isolated, and on Halloween night her worst fears materialize into a full-blown nightmare as she gets abducted.

The film stars Sean Astin, Alie Larter and Madison Wolfe.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with writer and director Warren Skeels about crafting the narrative story, Girl Who Cries Wolf, the man in the white van, true stories, and keeping up with the faceless serial killer.

Warren Skeels makes his directorial narrative feature film debut with The Man in the White Van. His documentary film Thespians about the largest high school theatre competition won Best Documentary at the Phoenix Film Festival and premiered on Showtime. Most recently, he created the television series Siesta Key. He produced the feature film Who’s Your Monkey starring Jason London and Scott Grimes.
