The Mandalorian: Bill Burr Defends His Boston Accent In The Series

Comedian Bill Burr is part of the Star Wars universe. Playing the role of Migs Mayfield in The Mandalorian. Burr recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and during the conversation was asked that some fans wondering why he had a Boston accent in the show. You can check out what Burr had to say on the matter below.

“What about English? Isn’t that a little weird? If you went to a galaxy far, far away and you get off and somebody’s like ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ and you totally understand him? How about C-3PO with an English accent — that was okay? The guy’s been knighted, he just played Royal Albert Hall, now he’s hanging out with [Luke Skywalker]?”

I completely agree that his accent is no more out of place than any of the others used in the franchise. And not only that, but it would be incredibly weird to hear Burr speak in any other way. That would be weird right? It would be distracting for someone familiar with the comedian at the very least.

Not long ago, Burr revealed he wasn’t really a Star Wars fan, but I have a feeling that may change in the future. I mean, how can you not love Star Wars? Better yet, how can you be in Star Wars and not love it? Unless you’re the great Sir Alec Guinness of course.
