The Mandalorian: Carl Weathers And Jon Favreau To Direct Episodes Of Season 2?

The Mandalorian hasn’t hit Disney+ yet (hell, Disney+ hasn’t even hit Disney+ yet), but anticipation seems to be at an all-time high for the space-based Western. We already knew that the show would be getting a second season, but actual details have eluded us. However, with the recent press junket for the show, some new bits regarding the impending second season.

First off, at the press junket, Favreau revealed that they’ve already started filming the darn thing, though we have no idea when it’ll be ready. Also, he confirmed that Carl Weathers would be directing an episode of the show, which is most unexpected (but still super cool).

Favreau then pointed to himself and said that there was probably someone else directing an episode, hinting that he could actually be taking the reins at some point. While The Mandalorian is definitely a creation of Favreau, he steered clear of the directing job for the first season, as he was likely preoccupied with The Lion King at the time.

I’m sure it’ll be a bit like coming home for Favreau that he’ll actually be able to get behind the camera. Are you excited to see him and Carl Weathers take control of the Mandalorian? Let us know down below!
