This past weekend was a virtual wet dream for Disney fans. We got the lowdown on all things Disney, including Disney+, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and everything in between. However, one of the big highlights for me, personally, was the trailer for The Mandalorian. As a huge fan of Spaghetti Westerns, it really did feel like it was cut from the same cloth.

However, if we were looking for much in terms of character, the trailer didn’t do a whole lot for us. Luckily, the folks at EW have a few of those details for us, and I’m here to share them with you!

Sadly, there isn’t much they could share about the titular Mandalorian himself, played by Pedro Pascal. All they shared was that he is a bounty hunter, works alone, and is attached to his stuff…whatever that means.

They then move on to Moff Gideon, played by Giancarlo Espositio. They describe him as a sort of regional warlord. “The Moffs were Sector Governors of the First Galactic Empire. But now that the Empire has collapsed, the governors are on their own, and some still have armies at their behest — and this one is rather ambitious.”

The trailer gave us a glimpse of Gina Carano’s character, whose name is Cara Dune. She is a Shock Trooper-turned-mercenary. She also fought as a member of the Rebellion, though I have my suspicions that it doesn’t necessarily make her a good guy…at least I hope those shades of gray are still present.

Up next, we have Greef Carga, played by Carl Weathers. He is the leader of the bounty hunters guild and he’s the one who sends the Mandalorian on a mission; a mission that nobody else wants.

Finally, there is IG-11. Yes, I know. Some of you will be disappointed to learn that this droid isn’t the same one we saw in The Empire Strikes Back. He is voiced by Taika Waititi, and the only info given is that he “Often gets mistaken for the famous IG-88 in the show.” I guess this means that IG-88 is actually quite famous?
