The Mandalorian: Russo Brothers Share Marvel Directors Reunion Photo From The Set

The Mandalorian is currently filming under the guidance of showrunner John Favreau, who of course directed Iron Man and Iron Man 2 for Marvel. Taiki Waititi is also going to be on directing duties for The Mandalorian and may even appear in front of the camera.

Now we know that Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of Avengers: Infinity War and the as yet untitled Avengers 4 paid a little visit to catch up with their fellow Marvel directors on the set. Check out the post on Twitter from The Russo Brothers below.

Of course, this has caused some fans to start speculating that the Russo Brothers will be involved in some way with The Mandalorian. It is possible, after all, the Russos have expressed interest previously in Disney’s other mega-franchise, but that still doesn’t mean it’s happening just because they visited the set. There really is no basis for that speculation, but, would I be surprised to learn they directed an episode at some point further down the line, no.

The Russo’s are red hot right now and I’m sure after Avengers 4 hits they will be looking to spread their wings as it were. As long as they are paired with the writing team of Markus and McFeely, I think the dream team would be a great fit for something Star Wars related. I’m not sure what would be available for them at this time mind you. Perhaps an episode of The Mandalorian could be a little trial run for them, it would be cool either way.
