Carl Weathers directing again as the actor confirms The Mandalorian Season 3 shoots September. That’s a few weeks away at most folks. Weathers was a guest at Steel City Con and his spot is online for you to watch below. At around the 44:42 mark, Weathers confirms three details. The Mandalorian Season 3 shoots September, he is back as Greef Karga, and also back behind the directors chair. Weathers has previously directed an episode of The Mandalorian Season 2. Frankly, I think Weathers did a great job, so I’m happy he’s back behind the camera as well as in front in Season 3.
Weathers led up to his statement by explaining just how his role as Greef Karga came about and was fleshed out more and more. Then he dropped this.
“And so now, we’re gonna start a new season of The Mandalorian, within the next Month. Yeah. And I get to be in front of camera again, and I get to direct again.”
Weathers then went on to tell the fans to watch it, and he hopes they love it and keep supporting it. Not just his work, but everyone who works on the show, and he feels like The Mandalorian can make his kids proud.
Now if you have been following LRM‘s coverage of Star Wars you’ll know we have claimed that some of Mando Season 3 was already shot, in and around the shooting of The Book of Boba Fett. We still stick by that, but we always knew that principal photography had not taken place yet. Pedro Pascal, whilst not always needed for filming, is not currently available. However that’s about to change and it looks like shooting will begin in LA within the Month.
