There was a second teaser trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 shown at Star Wars Celebration and somehow Babu Frik has returned! In case you are confused, Babu Frik is a character who has only been seen once previously and that was in 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. He was the tiny little creature who helped Threepio to get at that Sith code, or whatever that crazy plot was all about? The movie was trash, as was the plot. However I know a lot of fans despite all this kinda liked the character of Babu Frik. I guess his popularity persuaded Lucasfilm to introduce the character at an earlier period in the timeline, namely the MandoVerse era.
Other than the appearance of Babu Frik, there was a little more footage shown in this Season 3 trailer than the earlier one we have already described. Most of it was the same though. The only other addition worth mentioning was a closing shot of what looked like Mandalore post-destruction. It looked to me like this was the former capital city of Sundari, left a smoking ruin.

In addition The Mandalorian Season 3 directors, or at least some of them, were announced. Bryce Dallas-Howard, Carl Weathers and Rick Famuyiwa all returned to helm episodes for Season 3. Rick Famuyiwa has also been promoted to executive producer alongside Favreau and Filoni for Season 3 it was announced. Finally, Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau said he is already working on ideas for The Mandalorian Season 4.
I’m not going to lie and pretend I’m excited for Babu Frik’s triumphant return. However at the same time Frik wasn’t awful. Perhaps one of the very few decent additions to the Rise of Skywalker movie in actual fact. Still unlike some fans, I won’t be getting overly excited about the character, for now.
