The story of the second season of The Mandalorian is much like a snowball rolling down a hill. I was not expecting Mando and Grogu to get to Tython for another couple of episodes. However, I was pleasantly surprised when they were arriving at the planet in the episode’s opening minutes.

That would have been enough for me, but the episode wasn’t quite done with Star Wars goodness. While we saw a quick glimpse of the iconic bounty hunter earlier in the season, Boba Fett is back. And he is one, bad, dude. Handing out ass-whoopings free of charge, and he appeared to have an almost unlimited supply. Much more than just a simple man making his way through the galaxy.

But wait, there’s more.

The end of the episode confirmed a matter the franchise has flip-flopped on over the years. Boba Fett and his father Jango are real Mandalorians. It really depends on what you’re watching or reading as to the status of the Fetts. I’m sure there will still be some fans out there who disagree, but the evidence that Boba Fett presented to Mando seemed pretty convincing. It’s possible I am more willing to accept this outcome as I do prefer the idea that the Fetts are Mandalorians, but as I said, Boba’s evidence is hard to refute.

The last two episodes of The Mandalorian have been absolutely fantastic. And perhaps of greater importance, the episodes (and the series in general) are excellent examples of how the franchise should be treated. Favreau anad Filoni know how to take fans on a tour of the galaxy that allows us to explore with a sense of familiarity.
