The Marvel Cinematic Universe Has Made Over $20 Billion So Far

If you’re getting sick of hearing about all the Avengers and Marvel Cinematic Universe news and you’re hoping for us to cover something else…that’s too damn bad. You clicked on this link. You knew what you were getting into here. And I have to say, this is pretty damn big news for any studio, let alone a relatively new one that only makes films based on Marvel comics.

We all know that Avengers: Endgame has made movie history this past weekend, taking in a whopping $1.2 billion worldwide in its opening weekend, trouncing every other movie that’s ever come out ever ever ever. Needless to say, between that and the stellar Monday numbers, the movie pushed the universe in its entirety to a whole new frontier, as TheWrap reports.

According to the outlet, the MCU has grossed more than $20 billion in total. This means that, on average, these movies have grossed more than $900 million worldwide apiece. Of course, early on, box office grosses were modest, with all movies without the name Iron Man behind them in Phase 1 grossed less than $500 million apiece…so yeah, they’re doing amazingly.

Thus far, Avengers: Endgame has taken in $1.34 billion after six days, and chances are it’ll take in well over $2 billion. The only question is whether or not it will become the highest grossing movie of all time. Only time will tell.
