At today’s Television Critics Association Summer press tour, Disney+ shared a variety of upcoming original series. One of them was The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. During the presentation, it was announced that the second season of the series would return on Wednesday, September 28 of this year.
Here is the description to the second season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers provided by Disney
After winning back the Mighty Ducks team name last year, our squad-with-heart and their coach Alex Morrow (Lauren Graham) take to the road to attend an intense summer hockey institute in California run by charming yet hardcore former NHL player, Colin Cole (Josh Duhamel). It’s a place for kids to get excellent at hockey — without school to get in the way. As our Ducks try to survive in this super-competitive environment, they’re faced with the question: Can you win summer?
One interesting note to keep in mind is that Emilio Estevez, as previously reported, would not return to the series due to what he described as creative differences as Gordon Bombay. Duhamel’s character Colin Cole is set to take on that missing piece in this coming season. He as mentioned in the description will play an NHL player turned coach. He is described as inspirational, charming, and hardcore.

It will be interesting to see what this second season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers has to offer. Part of what had made the first season so special was the nostalgia that seeing some of the previous Ducks return to the ice. Now that seems to be behind us. What new adventures can we expect from this new group of Ducks that they have started developing? I am excited to see the next season this coming September.
You can check out the first season of the series exclusively on Disney+.
