In one of the successful offshoots of The Conjuring universe, The Nun successfully garnered over $365 million worldwide in theaters back in 2018. It’s no wonder that a sequel would immediately be greenlit with The Nun II.
Taissa Farmiga returns as Sister Irene to unravel the mysteries surrounding The Nun (reprised by Bonnie Aarons).
They will be joined by Jonas Bloquet (Tirailleurs), Storm Reid (The Last of Us, The Suicide Squad), and Anna Popplewell (Fairytale, The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy).
Michael Chaves (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) directed the horror film from the screenplay by Ian Goldberg & Richard Naing (Eli, The Autopsy of Jane Doe), and Akela Cooper (M3GAN, Malignant), with a story by Cooper, based on the characters created by James Wan and Gary Dauberman.
Here is a brief synopsis of The Nun II:
1956 – France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face-to-face with Valak, the demon nun.

I must admit that The Nun is more frightful than its other side films of the Annabelle franchise from The Conjuring Universe. There is just something really creepy with Bonnie Aarons (The Nun) staring at you in the dark.
The Nun II will be in theaters nationwide on September 8.
