Stephen King is a huge deal in the storytelling world. Readers have been devouring his novels for decades, and moviegoers have been consuming his movies for nearly as long. From Carrie to IT, he’s managed to bring us some of the most seminal horrific experiences and brought them into our imaginations.
These days, we’re never wanting for a new Stephen King adaptation, as there tend to be dozens of them in development at the same time, but one of the latest adaptations comes in the form of The Outsider, a mystery series that brings in supernatural elements — something King is known for. In a new featurette, we get to see them dive into his legacy, trademarks, and the story of HBO’s new series.

In the video, King goes on to say that he learned his storytelling chops from writers of The Twilight Zone who said you can make people believe in the weird if you have grounded touchstones for audiences to cling onto.
This very much describes all of King’s work and certainly seems to apply to The Outsider, which features someone who was somehow able to be in two places at once.
