The Rings of Power Villain Adar Details – [SPOILERS] Barside Buzz

The latest Rings of Power Barside Buzz says that that the angelic form of Sauron will appear in Season 2 played by a different actor

Fellowship of Fans has some new The Rings of Power villain Adar details they’ve leaked. It goes without saying there are potentially SPOILERS here for The Rings of Power, which doesn’t hit screens for another 4 months. So be wary. The basic facts outside of this new information? We know is that there is a character called Adar played by Joseph Mawle and this character serves as the primary antagonist of the first Season of the show.

Potential Rings of Power SPOILERS Below!

As for who or what Adar is, it appears he is not simply a code name for the true villain Sauron. Instead FoF has always said Adar is a fallen Elf who commands Orcs and other monstrous dark forces. Fans have begun to speculate on whether Adar is really a name chosen by some other Elf from the Legendarium. Whilst no one knows that for certain, some fans have speculated this could be Maeglin, one of Feanor’s sons who turned to evil in the First Age. That being said, this is just speculation and would cause some issues with the canon which I’m not sure Amazon would be allowed to do?

Check out some details about Adar from FoF below.

As someone who would consider myself quite the Tolkienist, I am genuinely baffled by all of this. I know the timeline of the Second Age is being shrunk considerably for the show, but Adar makes very little sense to me. What is he after, I mean what kind of talisman could he be looking for? We can rule out Rings of Power as those won’t have been created yet in the show. More to the point where is Sauron? After the First Age ended Sauron was offered repentance back in Valinor, but also judgement. He refused it and fled to the East of Middle-earth. My guess is that Sauron’s identity will be kept secret in some way in The Rings of Power. I could also be completely wrong on that.

We’d know pretty much straight away when some Elf appears and starts asking people to make magic rings. Oh, that’ll be Sauron then. This is intriguing, and yet worrying at the same time. I guess we shall have to wait for September and judge the finished article for ourselves.
