The Rise Of Skywalker Gets Its CinemaScore… It’s Not An A

Fan reactions and reviews for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is turning out to be a mixed bag of good, bad, and meh. The critics are not big on it, especially those that LOVED The Last Jedi, but the fans are less united in their taste for the Skywalker Saga finale. The film’s score from Cinemascore has been revealed to be the second-lowest in the post-Original Trilogy era (because the site didn’t exist during the OT), a B+. That’s… odd to this writer.

This film is better than Solo, in my opinion of course, by far and I think we can all agree almost anything except maybe Attack of the Clones is better than The Clone Wars movie, so it’s odd to see it get a B+ from fans. I honestly expected an A-. However, if you convert the fan score from Rotten Tomatoes, which stands at 86, into a letter grade… well I guess that depends on your school. However, fans were much harsher on Solo on RT  than they were with Cinemascore. At the end of the day, Cinemascore is a bit more scientific than RT, but colored me interested to see what the weekend’s box office take will be.
