Finally, the SAG-AFTRA strike is over! It was announced that the deadlock was broken and the latest offers has been accepted. So find out which movies will start filming ASAP! Here are the details as per Deadline.
‘With the end of 118-day actors strike at 12:01 a.m. Thursday morning, as well as a 148-day WGA strike back in September, global Hollywood feature productions can now resume.’
‘And while studios warned the guild that movies wouldn’t be able to start until January due to the holidays, they’ve been in pre-production on re-starts for pics that had to pause back in July.’
So what movies will resume production?
‘Deadline hears that those movies set to go back this week or in very near future are Marvel Studios/Disney’s Deadpool 3 starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman and directed by Shawn Levy (50% complete); Paramount’s Gladiator 2 over in Europe, Warner Bros’ Tim Burton directed Beetlejuice 2 (which only has two days left), Clint Eastwood’s Juror No. 2 (which has around a dozen days left) and Sony’s Venom 3.’

The trade also reveals a few other movies which should start in early 2024. One they cite is James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy which they say will now film in March 24′ for a June 11, 25′ release date.
Additionally the trade had an update later that Sony had staked out a new release date for Venom 3 of November 8th, 2024. A delay from previous date of July 14.
It’s great to see all these movies getting back to business…except Venom 3, that can go for a walk in the sea.
It will take some time, but we may now get a lot more stories outside of rumors. Actors will be able to conduct interviews and promote their work again also, which lets a site like LRM get back to our main bread and butter.
