The Selena: The Series Trailer Has Us All Nostalgically Grooving!

Selena: The Series

Selena: The Series Official Trailer

Despite the fact that Selena tragically was murdered in 1995 her music lives on in what seems like every Hispanic household. Songs like Como La Flor, Baila Esta Cumbia, and Bidi Bidi Bom Bom still bring joy to the masses. This is why she is often referred to as the Queen of Tejano music. She broke all kinds of barriers in music, make-up, and fashion.

We have already enjoyed the story of her life once via the Warner Bros. Pictures film Selena, starring Jennifer Lopez back in 1997. Now Netflix is ready to keep Selena’s Memory alive with their upcoming two-part series, Selena: The Series. Yesterday, they released the first official trailer which you can check out down below.

Here is the synopsis for Selena: The Series provided by Netflix:

Before she became the Queen of Tejano Music, Selena Quintanilla was a young girl from Texas with big dreams and an even bigger voice. Selena: The Series explores her journey from singing small gigs to becoming the most successful female Latin artist of all time — and the years of hard work and sacrifice the Quintanilla family navigated together.

From executive producers Jaime Dávila, Rico Martinez, Hiromi Kamata, Suzette Quintanilla, Simran A. Singh and Moises Zamora. It was created by Zamora, with Don Todd (“This is Us”) consulting. Stars Christian Serratos, Gabriel Chavarria, Ricardo Chavira, Noemí Gonzalez (“Dark/Web”), and Seidy López.

Like I’ve said before, I think that Serratos is going to kill it as Selena. I think that this trailer proves that. I cannot wait to be able to enjoy this series with my family.
