The Suicide Squad: Here’s Who’s Playing Who — Plus, Behind The Scenes! [VIDEOS]

Gunn answers questions about The Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad is a brand that has been mildly hurt on the big screen. Thank goodness it is such a strong one in the comics and animation world that Warner Bros. knew it was worth a second try. And who better to give it to than James Gunn? He already put together a great team with the Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel. Why not throw together another team of misfits?

During the DC FanDome event, fans got to ask writer-director James Gunn tons of questions, but the big question we had was…who the hell are people playing? Well, they made a big deal about hiding who’s playing who, but at the DC FanDome event, they put the entire mess to rest.

Here’s who’s playing who in The Suicide Squad.

Viola Davis – Amanda Waller

Joel Kinnaman – Rick Flag

Michael Rooker – Savant

Flula Borg – Javelin

Margot Robbie – Harley Quinn

David Dastamalchian – Polka Dot Man

Daniela Melchior – Ratchatcher 2

Idris Elba – Bloodsport

King Shark

Mayling Ng – Mongal

Peter Capaldi – Thinker

Alice Braga – Sol Soria

Pete Davidson – Blackguard

Jai Courtney – Captain Boomerang

Nathan Fillion – TDK

Sean Gunn – Weasel

John Cena – Peacemaker

Phew! That’s a lot of people. The one that seems to have a lot of fans confused here is is TDK, played by Nathan Fillion. Some have pointed out that it looks like Black Hand, but it’s anyone’s guess for now, right?

In addition to the name reveal, we got some behind the scenes look. In it, we got the typical stuff with everyone talking up how great it is. But, in addition to that, it is revealed that his movie plays like a 1970s war movie. James Gunn even went as far as to say that it is the biggest movie he made, by far. Considering he made two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, that’s saying something.

All in all, The Suicide Squad looks all sorts of exciting. It looks exactly like the kind of thing I was hoping for from the first film. That being said, we haven’t seen legit footage yet, so only time will tell.
