Nintendo’s most successful video game franchise Mario Bros. is making its second trek to the big screen with Illumination.
Illumination has a terrific track record with animation projects from Minions films and Despicable Me films to the Secret Life of Pets and Sing franchises.
Now with the two powerhouses in video games and animations, fans have high expectations for The Super Mario Bros film.
The voice cast includes Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go!, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies) directed the film from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Minions: The Rise of Gru).

The plot of The Super Mario Bros. film will be unveiled at the gathering at New York Comic Con. During its panel, the teaser trailer makes its premiere to the convention goers at 4 p.m. ET on October 6. We’ll publish the teaser trailer on this site whenever it is available.
In the meantime, Universal Pictures revealed its first teaser poster The Super Mario Bros. movie.
By all guesses, it probably is a “save the princess” storyline as Mario must make the trek through the wonderful colorful world to the Princess’s castle. The poster has plenty of vibes about the video game and much more.
The Super Mario Bros. movie is in theaters next year on April 7.
