As fans of the show know, Andrew Lincoln left The Walking Dead in dramatic fashoin with his exit being being announced long before it happened. While his character, Rick Grimes, was leaving the TV show fans came to learn that this wasn’t the end of the character in the universe, and h Lincoln would be reprising the role in three upcoming films.
Today we get a teaser for the first of the three films. The video above is really not much more than a reminder the film is coming and that the project is still being worked on.

In a previous interview producer Scott M. Gimple had the following to say on the films.
“The story of Rick will go on in films. Right now, we’re working on three but there’s flexibility in that. … Over the next several years, we’re going to be doing specials, new series are quite a possibility, high-quality digital content and then some content that defies description at the moment. We’re going to dig into the past and see old characters. We’re going to introduce new characters and new situations.”
It was also learned today that the films will not air on AMC as many had assumed and will instead have a theatrical run. They movies may eventually find their way to the network but it won’t be the platform of their premiere.
