The book series turned game series turned streaming series, The Witcher, has been a huge success. I didn’t play the games or read the books, but I’m loving the work Netflix is putting into their franchise. Back in August, the animated film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, was released and was loved by critics and fans. Soon, we will be getting the prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin, and Netflix just gave us a teaser. Check out Michelle Yeoh, Laurence O’Fuarain, and Sophia Brown in the Blood Origin teaser.
The Witcher: Blood Origin Synopsis
Every story has a beginning. Witness the untold history of the Continent with The Witcher: Blood Origin, a new prequel series set in an elven world 1200 years before the events of The Witcher. Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time – exploring the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “Conjunction of the Spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.

The teaser looked great and I can’t wait to see the first trailer. They show beautiful scenery and cool fighting scenes, but I want to see more. I guess I’m being a little impatient. The prequel series will have six episodes and Vicky Jewson and Sarah O’Gorman will be directing three episodes each. Blood Origin will be released sometime in 2022.
