The Teaser Trailer For Disney’s Live-Action Dumbo Is Here!

It’s no secret that Disney is working on live-action adaptations of their classics, and today comes the official teaser trailer for Tim Burton’s Dumbo. While the teaser is just over a minute in length and doesn’t show us a whole lot, we do get a good look at the lovable pachyderm, and I have to say, he is cute as can be, I think they did well converting him from the old cartoon.

The film does seem to have the classic darker tone of Tim Burton films, but that’s not to say the original animated film didn’t have the ability to scare children, I know this because the scene where Dumbo gets drunk used to freak me out when I was a child.

With Christopher Robin due to be released in August, Disney will continue the trend and has live-action versions of Aladdin, The Lion King, and Sword in the Stone (which is the remake I am most excited about) in the works.

Below is the official synopsis for Dumbo:

“From Disney and visionary director Tim Burton, the all-new grand live-action adventure Dumbo expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.”

The film is directed by Tim Burton from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, Dumbo showcases an all-star cast including Michael Keaton, Danny Devito, Colin Farrell, Eva Green, and Alan Arkin.

Dumbo flies into theaters March 29, 2019.
