Twin siblings always have a strong bond and connection. After the passing of one sibling in The Twin, a mother is haunted with images of the dead son and the secrets about their living son.
The Scandinavian horror film stars Teresa Palmer (A Discovery of Witches, Warm Bodies) and Steven Cree (A Discovery of Witches, Outlander). It marks the English-language directorial debut for Taneli Mustonen and it was written by Mustonen and Aleksi Hyvarinen.
Here is the brief synopsis:
In The Twin, following the aftermath of a tragic accident that claimed the life of one of their twins, Rachel (Palmer) and husband Anthony (Cree) relocate to the other side of the world with their surviving son in hopes of building a new life. What begins as a time of healing in the quiet Scandinavian countryside soon takes an ominous turn when Rachel begins to unravel the torturous truth about her son and confronts the malicious forces attempting to take a hold of him.

The story has a familiar tone of a mother’s loss and seeing supernatural entities. It’ll be interesting to see what the twists and turns may be in this Scandinavian horror film that strives on occult storytelling. And Teresa Palmer excels in the horror genre that we grew to love.
Shudder and RLJE Films set a release date for Friday, May 6 on the Shudder streaming platforms, in select theaters, On Demand, and available digitally in the United States and Canada.
