The Venom Trailer Had More Than 60 Million Views Over Its First 24 Hours

While some fans had a few issues with the Venom trailer, it was still able to gather up over 64 million views over its first day of release, passing up both Doctor Strange and DC’s pride and joy, Wonder Woman. As of a couple days ago, the trailer has nearly doubled the number of views it received over its first 24 hours, with over 124 million.

No comic book adaptation is going to please every fan, the trailer battled through complaints of no Spider-Man being seen (who has always been a part of Venom’s origin), and also over the pronunciation of the word symbiote, but seemed to please the majority of fans. With Marvel and Sony now playing nice with each other, it is still possible Spider-Man could show up somewhere in the film.

While I have only seen a small amount of it, Tom Hardy’s performance looks to be key to this film. When I heard that Hardy had taken the role of Venom, I wasn’t sure how to feel about it, as I thought his talents could be better used portraying a bigger named superhero. Now I think he made the right choice.

Venom will star Tom Hardy as the titular character, along with Jenny Slate, Woody Harrelson, and Michelle Williams. The film was written by Kelly Marcel and William Beall and will be directed by Ruben Fleischer.
