If you’re like me, you likely think that Wonder Woman didn’t go far enough with its social progress. Hell, even the upcoming Black Panther didn’t do enough to advance the underrepresented in this industry. Sure, women and people of color may be working to fix that problem in Hollywood, but one other group that’s getting the short shrift are walkers.

Luckily, AMC’s The Walking Dead is here to fix that. For the past several years, The Walking Dead has hired more walkers than any other series to date — so many that we can’t even really count them. They’ve really helped to bolster society’s perception of the group, and have even helped many a walker get off the streets. However, one thing they’ve lacked is the courage to show off one in its birthday suit.

That changes today.

Speaking with EW, The Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero stated that an upcoming episode will forge new territory.

“There’s an episode where we did our first fully nude walker. We’ve never done that before.”

Okay, so letting a walker go nude is one thing, but the true test will be whether or not they allow full frontal. Only after we know for sure will we know if this truly a step forward in our social agenda.

Take note, Hollywood. While you’re out there casting and hiring women and people of color, the real heroes go unrewarded. Let’s hope this is a first step in the right direction.
