Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is on her way back, folks! According to Variety, Netflix has officially set the release date for Season 4 of the comedy series for May 30, 2018. But here’s where things will slightly differ from the norm.
Usually, Netflix will drop 13 of their episodes at a time. That’s been the case ever since House of Cards dropped, and has been the case for every season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt up until this point. With the exception of some choice series that have some weird licensing issues (and one of their other shows, The Ranch), that’s always been the case.

This time around, May 30 will be the day that the first six episodes of Season 4 of the show will hit the streaming service. The second half of the show will instead premiere at a later date in 2018.
We honestly have no idea why they decided to take this new approach for Kimmy Schmidt, especially since it’s one of the most-binged series on Netflix. Perhaps this has to do with some of their stats — hell, maybe The Ranch does a lot better, and they want to test if Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will get a ratings bump if they do the same thing.
Regardless, you can expect the first six episodes of the season to hit ths coming May, so prepare your body for more of Kimmy and Titus’ antics!
