The Walking Dead‘s ninth season premiere is not far off, and with the upcoming season comes the exits of two of the series’ most beloved characters, Maggie Greene, played by Lauren Cohan, and Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln. The trailer above teases the final episodes of Rick Grimes. There appears to be a few new scenes but a lot of the footage we have seen before, The end is of course new and probably worth the watch alone. I am assuming that is one of the Whisperers, and that the Walkers haven’t become more intelligent.

As much as I’ve complained about the shows most recent seasons, I am excited for the upcoming season. With the time jump and what looks to be a rising mutiny against Rick, perhaps the ninth season can be a return to form for the show. Of course, Maggie and Rick’s departures are also of high interest to long time fans, even ones like myself, who have been almost bored with the show over the last few seasons. Will the characters die, or simply move on? While killing them off would definitely have more impact, it may be a smarter move to keep them alive for a potential return in the future.
