As fans prepare for the return of The Walking Dead on October 22, today comes a new teaser for the upcoming eighth season. The video features Rick Grimes, giving one of his famous speeches to his people. The speech is very optimistic and Rick reminds them that no matter what the future holds, with everything they have survived, they have already won.

Rick is right, his group has survived some dire situations over the previous seasons, but this season will be where the true test of their will begins. After the events of last season’s finale, Rick’s group has probably crossed the point of no return with Negan, and the inevitable war with the Saviors is drawing closer. Rick will need to rally the surrounding communities to have a real shot at taking down Negan and the Saviors. Negan was portrayed as untouchable, and seemed almost invincible throughout most of the season. The finale showed that Negan and his army are human and they can be hurt.
