The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf teaser trailer is here! We have known for some time that this prequel to Netflix’s The Witcher series was coming as an animated movie. So far, all we really knew was the fact a young Vesemir, a mentor of Geralt, would feature prominently.
Now we have a few more details to look over. However, first check out The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf teaser trailer below, and the release date revealed as August 23rd on Netflix.
As you can see, Vesemir is very much front and center of this story. However you can find some other key details via Netflix themselves in the social media posts below.
Vesemir grew up as a servant on a nobleman’s estate, working long days for too little coin. He yearns to break free of his social standing and to explore the Continent to find his destiny.

Other than Vesemir himself, none of these names mean much to me. I’m not an expert on Witcher lore like I am with other franchises, but I am learning. Personally I think this looks like fun, and that’s dispute me not being a fan of animation. Still, whilst it would likely cost too much, I still reckon a live-action movie would have been better. There’s not much to see of the plot in this teaser, though certainly much more than we got for the recent The Witcher Season 2 teaser trailer.

Vesemir himself will be making his live action debut with The Witcher Season 2. Though, I guess we will already know a lot about him from The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf by then. Kim Bodnia will play the much older Vesemir within The Witcher Season 2. For this quite younger version the character will be voiced in the animated movie by Theo James.
