Today we share a social media post from Henry Cavill giving The Witcher Season 2 filming update. Cavill has been working in and around the Lake District in England for the past few weeks. However England has gone into another temporary National Lockdown. So what does this mean for The Witcher Season 2? For now, according to Cavill, it means heading back down South to film in the studio.
Check it out Here, but below is what Cavill says in his post.
“England returns to Lockdown on Thursday so it is time for me to depart Yorkshire and The extraordinary North, and head back down South to continue shooting in the studio. Thank you for hosting all of us on season 2 of The Witcher. Hopefully I shall return to your hills, dales and fells soon. Stay strong and stay safe, my friends.”
Whilst Cavill doesn’t say directly, you get the feeling this is a forced change. I have a feeling that more filming in the North is required to be finished. It could be December at the earliest before Cavill and the production team are able to head back to the Lake District. However with the Holidays coming soon after, perhaps it will be 2021 before this filming can be completed. For now at least Cavill and the team are still working, just within the probably tighter controlled studio environment.

The Witcher Season 2 has a had a crazy production schedule. The filming began just before the first Lockdown and when it started back up things had to change. For a start the role of fellow Witcher Eskel had to be recast due to continued filming and travel restrictions. Now filming is having to adjust the schedule to accommodate a further Lockdown situation. For now though, what else can be done? The whole World is in the same boat and TV and Film productions, and releases are all over the place.
