Exec Producer Says Stranger Things 4 Scripts Are Exceptional Due To Lockdown – No Release Date Set

Stranger Things 4 scripts are exceptional due to Lockdown? That’s what executive producer Shawn Levy said in a recent interview with Collider. Levy was chatting about his new Netflix series Dash & Lily, though he offered a brief Stranger Things update. Currently there is no release date set for Stranger Things 4, and that’s heavily linked to Coronavirus restrictions as you’d imagine. However Levy also said the other side of the coin is that the scripts for Season 4 are exceptional.

“I’ll just say the pandemic definitely massively delayed shooting and therefore the launch of our current Season 4, date still TBD. But it impacted very positively by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time ever, to write the entire season before we shoot it and to have time to rewrite in a way that they rarely had before so the quality of these screenplays are exceptional, maybe better than ever.”

TV, and Film always has deadlines. I’ts been said before that this Coronavirus may have been terrible for the industry as a whole. However, we hope the extra prep work and script work time that productions have had will bear fruit. It’s rare for writers to get so much time to work on the actual stories. Let’s hope that extra time equates to better quality films and TV shows overall.

I hoped we’d see Stranger Things 4 this year sometime, but production only tentatively began in September. Given we already in November, I guess it will 2021 before we see the next Season of Stranger Things. Then we can see whether the Stranger Things 4 scripts are exceptional as Levy says? I was a big fan of Stranger Things 3, so I am hoping Stranger Things 4 is even better.

What do you think of levy’s comments? What are you hoping for in Stranger Things 4? Leave your thoughts below as always.
