According to a new report The Witcher Season 3 is all but confirmed at Netflix. This does not come as surprising news considering it was rumored that The Witcher had been given a three season deal right from the off. However, none of that was ever made official by Netflix. We know Season 2 of The Witcher is currently filming, but now we have some solid evidence that Season 3 already has a go.
The folks over at Redanian Intelligence have noticed that The Witcher Season 3 has been added to the database of the Writers Guild of America. That pretty much confirms Season 3 is go. It’s now a case of just waiting for Netflix to make the official announcement. I think Netflix can be pretty sure that Season 2 is going to have high viewing figures because the first season was a bit of a pop culture phenomena. How many viewers had that song stuck in their heads after watching Season 1. Toss a coin to your Witcher anyone?

Season 1 of The Witcher met with less critical fanfare, but word of mouth was strong. I visit a lot of fan forums and discussion sites and The Witcher Season 1 was pretty universally loved by fans. Was it perfect and without criticism? No, however the majority of the criticism was down to the separate timelines of the show. As The Witcher moves into Season 2 the main characters are all now finally in the same timeline. Therefore one of Season 1 criticism’s likely won’t be a concern going forward. For me, the main draw of The Witcher was how much I enjoyed watching the three main characters. Now in Season 2 we get to see how Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer work together finally.
