Over the past several years, the Witcher series has grown in popularity as the video games have hit consoles. Never before has this novel series had so much exposure, and as such, it’s the perfect time to make a series based on the source material.
Spearheading this project for Netflix is showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich, who is known for her work on shows like The West Wing, Daredevil, and The Defenders. If you’ve been following her on Twitter (and I highly recommend you do), you’ll be privy to all sorts of nuggets regarding the show, and it’s clear just how important the source material is to all involved.
In a new tweet from Hissrich, she showed off a photo from the writers room. Check it out below!
I can't imagine a better day.
The #Witcher writers' room opened today, and it was full of ideas and banter and cupcakes and creativity and darkness and champagne and this hilarious picture that's better than any of the posed group selfies I attempted.
It's happening. ♥️ pic.twitter.com/jUn9MPwf9L

That wasn’t all. Jessica Jones and Cloak and Dagger writer Jenny Klein quoted that tweet, confirming her role in the show, saying:
“Super stoked to be writing for this amazing show helmed by the absolutely brilliant @LHissrich!! What a great room (as you can see by our Very Serious Day 1 Room Portrait) #Witcher is gonna ROCK THE NETFLIX”
Clare Higgins (The Worst Witch) also confirmed her involvement in the series, and based on those there alone, there is a substantial amount of talent behind this project, which is a great thing (Yeah, sorry, I don’t think I am quite able to make out the rest of the writers based on the photo).
What do you think of all this? Are you excited to see how the series will turn out? Let us know down below!
